Morino Lodge Hakuba view from above.

Morino” is Japanese for “of the Forest”, hence, we are the “Lodge of the Forest“.

Take a look at this drone footage of Morino Lodge Hakuba & surrounding area  to see why the name is apt.

There`s a clear shot of Morino at the 10 second mark. & that`s Happo One a few hundred meters from us.

Another great staff season edit

Thanks to last season Morino lodge staff member Seth Hampson for an excellent Season edit.

Alas, Seth has joined the corporate ladder so he can’t make it back again for more of the same this season.

90% filmed in Hakuba with the rest from early and late season Washington state.

Hakuba Open for the 17/18 season!

Something was in the air yesterday and boards were duly waxed and season passes picked up and ready in case the snow gods provided – Which they did!

A glorious crisp bluebird morning followed by an announcement that Happo and Goryu were both opening to the tune of about 60cm on the upper slopes.

Happo staff greeted the small band of merry makers, bowed and thanked us for making it to the first day of the season. In exchange, Cheers and gratitude for working to open on such short notice.

The upper slopes were covered with nice knee deep dense chalky powder and with lots of space and not many people the fresh turns lasted till lunchtime.

Pitted in Hakuba

The coming seasons Morino Staff are gonna have a hard time outdoing the video edits from the 2017 crew. Here, our man Rowen gives us some 80`s retro & of course a lot of Hakuba powder turns on his ON3Ps.  Great work Rowen!
